Reasearch & writing

Hello everyone, I feel that the time spent in the library is going to be a key to writing an effective research paper. When you feel that you have enough articles to read for a scientific research paper, go ahead and get a couple more after getting very specific about your search. then read the material a couple of times. Once you think that you have the material analyzed start writing about all that you have read. Keep this writing handy. When starting your paper, make notes from your writing about the specific points that you are going to address and then start organizing the information. The KU handbook is a wonderful resource to help with the organization of your paper. Read out loud often what you have written to get a feel for your paper and maybe find someone to be an audience, don't be afraid to rewrite and learn to value constructive criticism. Remember to spell check too.

well done

Hello everyone, now that we are almost done, I feel such relief. I had a difficult time trying to gather my thought and channel my energy to get this project completed. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I havn't changed any ideas regarding writing although if I deceide to do more sophisticated writing, I feel much better equipted to write a paper that people can read and comprehend. I would like to research autism and find out how to help my grandson to develop to his potential. Thanks for sharing this class with me.

difficult going

hello everyone, I do not know about the rest of you, but I am having a difficult time revising my rough draft. Sometimes the things I write make perfect sense and then I read the draft again and it sounds fuddled. I have also had difficulty getting some things from the library. I am really fired up about my topic and would like to let the US know how much better off the whole country would be if we would encourage breastfeeding. I think that infant formula has its place as a suppliment to breast feeding but there are so many good things for a mom and her baby to have the nursing experience. Good luck to all with your efforts to produce a well written paper.

final draft

I haven't had much time to read many of the blogs for last week but I just want to touch base. I am having some trouble retrieving some of the articles from the library. I think my first draft went well even though it was late in posting. I really like the topic I picked and my daughter is following very closely because she is breast feeding. I am learning so many new things. I don't really like the peer review because I do not know the APA formatting too well. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Cleaning up the mess

The greatest test before us now is to sort out and organize our research and thoughts to create an a+ paper. I think that I have a pretty good handle on the subject and enough facts and studies to back up the paper, but this hasn't been as easy as I had thought it would be. Personal issues are just about overwhelming me. I am struggling to keep the goal of graduating with a degree in perspective. I am determined to complete this term to the best of my ability, no matter what. Good luck to everyone on their paper.

dazed and confused

Greetings everyone!
I really do not see the value in this Blog thing. It seems to mess with my computer and I really do not know what to blog about. I am really interested in making new friends and new ways to communicate but this seems pointless. I do not like being negative and can find nothing positive about this. It is a beautiful day here in southeastern Indiana and I am working on class work. I am doing my paper on breast feeding. I am pretty excited about it. The more I read, the more I feel that the mother's in our country would greatly benefit from having this knowledge. I know the formula companies need to push their product and I know that there are medical reasons that some mothers cannot breast feed, but, the benefits are overwhelming. Good luck everyone with your papers.

All about me

I am a 58 year old married female with 4 grown children. Twin boys, and two daughters. I have 3 horses, all from animal rescue, 2 dogs, one from animal rescue and one born and breed on the home place. A very fun coy pond and one cat found as a kitten chewed up pretty bad. I enjoy reading, anything from the Greek classics to super hero comic books. I love archaeology, rock hunting, bird watching, fishing and taking care of animals that no one else wants. My hair is gray, my face is somewhat crinkled from smiling and laughing, and most of the time I don't feel my age. I do go to church and I love to sing. I can play several musical instruments. I have a grandbaby 7 months old to play with.
